Game of Thrones Headcanons

if youd like to continue to discuss what headcanons are or are not, ill ask you to please redirect all questions to my main blog, nedsseveredhead, as to avoid cluttering up the headcanon blog.

also if you have confessions or headcanons or theories, send them in, as there is not really much i can update the blog with.

thank you.

My opinion on headcanons is that they should only fill in blanks left by canon, and if your headcanon contradicts canon in any way, you're doing it wrong. As good as headcanons can be, they're still worthless compared to real canon.

I believe that was the original intention, but its hard to remember every single tiny thing that happened in canon so sometimes it contradicts. and honestly who even cares. like if your biggest concern is someone miles away accidentally slipped up on on canon on a tumblr blog you have a wonderful life and im very jealous. just let people post what they want, and if you don’t like it, either ignore (so hard to do i know) or unfollow the blog and find another. theres plenty.

WHAT ARE HEADCANNONS REALLY?

 submitted

Am confused… On this whole headcannon blog. As I see lot of people getting bitched at for their “headcannons”

Are headcannons not someone’s own  personal AUs/fan theories, and for their own fun want to share with the world?

The only headcannons I known of, are these ones. Where fans use this term as slang. To express their own personal fan-cannons. So I think all this in fighting needs to stop, it’s just stupid. They are fictional characters in a  fictional world. And tell you self this, will this really matter someday? No!

I agree. While I try to control it sometimes, it gets tiring and theres not much I can do. But honestly bashing someone’s headcanon or theory of fucking confession is so asinine and i want to close this blog sometimes because of it. but alas, free speech and all that jazz, do as you like.

Can you please have spoiler tags?
Anonymous

I do.

The tags are as follows:

ACOK spoilers (for book two, season two)

ASOS spoilers (for book three, seasons 3 and 4)

AFFC spoilers (for book four, some of season 4, probably more season 5)

ADWD spoilers (for book five, and season 6 maybe?)

I try to tag spoilers accordingly, and also post images above the actual post, like this:

Itll either say A Clash of Kings (book two), A Storm of Swords (book three), the above (book four), or A Dance with Dragons (book five.) Once The Winds of Winter comes out I’ll make one for that too and the tag will be TWOW spoilers.

As said, I try my best to tag spoilers, but I sometimes rush through these, so if I miss something, please just message me to tell me, linking me to the post preferably, and I’ll fix it. Sorry if I accidently spoiled something for you due to my negligence! I’ll try harder in the future!

Alayne Stone is a real person.

Her story is too, and she was Petyr’s father’s child; before Petyr was fostered at Riverun she was a cool older sister to him, albeit he was rather disdainful.

With both Stannis and Jon on the wall, I’ve been thinking about Azor Ahai a lot but one day I thought about Stoneheart and Brienne and am now convinced Brienne is AA. I’m new to theories but here goes. The legend says his sword first broke (into Window’s Wail and Oathkeeper) and on second try AA killed a lion with it (Brienne kills Jaime, keeping the oath to LS) and finally he killed his wife (LS, the wailing widow) and the sword became Lightbringer. And then there’s Jaime dream from ASOS.

Catelyn had a hard time accepting Jon’s presence in Winterfell, as we all know. She never “forgave” Jon but it wasn’t easy forgiving Ned either. It took her some eight years to truly let go of her anger/grief towards Ned. This was when their second son was born and as an act of forgiveness, Catelyn suggested they’d name the boy Brandon, after Ned’s older brother. Since then they truly started loving each other.

I always imagined Dorne to be a mix of Hispanic, Indian, and Middle Eastern Cultures.

it just feels right given the description of the food, architecture, and the environment

The blonde male whore who was in the brothel with Oberyn and Ellaria is actually show!Satin. When the Faith is remilitarised, the brothels will be shut down and he will be sent to the Wall. Better late than never.

I’m not sure how to feel about SanSan. I think it’d be a great Beauty and The Beast type love story, but Sandor is just so harsh towards her at times, especially in the books. While I can admit they play off each other very well, he’s protective of her, and both Sansa and Sandor have grown and learned since meeting each other, there’s something unsettling about it being anymore than friendship considering their history. It’s not yet friendship they have, but a mutual respect that’s complex.

Where did you go?
Anonymous

Vacation with family. I tried to queue some stuff before I left, but there were only like two submissions at that point and I’m also probably the laziest mod on tumblr dot com. I’ll get stuff up and running again soon. If you could though, try to submit some things. I only have enough stuff for like 3 day.
